Our story
When I asked a 7-year-old which superhero from the Avengers brigade he would like to be, he immediately replied,
‘He can’t be a superhero because children can’t do that. Superheroes are big.’
It made me think about 4 QUESTIONS:

If the biggest superhero franchise cannot make a child break the frontiers of imagination then what will?

Do children get to see their stories on screen?
Do they see heroes or heroines who talk, feel, think and act like them?
Do they get to see stories that help them connect with this world, understand it and relate to it in a way that is unique to them?

Is the current crop of children’s content increasingly escapist instead of being reflective?

Where are the stories that deal with bullying, broken friendships, anxiety, exam fevers, young heartbreak, peer pressure, eating disorders, pressures of social media and issues relevant to children today.
